I Like Money

I was planning on posting more this week, but my managers decided to offer overtime to get caught up on a backlog we've been experiencing.  And not just overtime, which would only be time and a half.  Oh no.  If we work 15 or more hours this week, we get double time.  Of course this wasn't offered to us until Wednesday, so since then I have worked one 11.5 hour day, one 14 hour day, and I'm in the middle of another 14 hour day.  Crazy?  Yes.  But the paycheck will be nice!

Needless to say I haven't had much time to read or, really, do anything other than work and sleep (and the sleeping has been minimal), so my life hasn't really been blog-worthy.  (Although I should warn you all against the perils of eating Jimmy Johns two days in a row.  Trust me.  You don't want to put your stomach through that, delicious as it might be at the time.)  If you want to keep up with how I'm handling the long days, you can follow me on Twitter.

While I could work more tomorrow, I have a feeling I'm not going to want to do anything more than sleep in and possibly take a trip to Borders to pick up these nifty things (if they still sell them there; it's been awhile since I've seen them).  What will the rest of you be up to this weekend?

P.S.  My avatar over there?  Just so you know, I look nowhere near as refined and chipper as that.  Don't be fooled.

**Update as of Sunday**
I've changed my avatar, so the pajamas and glasses are a pretty good description, except my pajamas don't match. C'est la vie.

  1. Hi. I'm Jennifer. I found you at the book blogger hop. Love your blog so far - the layout is adorable and quite a great name. I work at the library on campus (I got to Santa Clara University) as a student assistant. So I think we have the library gig in common, which is nice. I know how you feel about taking all the extra hours - I'm always in a similar boat at the end of the quarter when we get backlogged and the extra hours make a very nice pay check!
