Seafood Gumbo

A few weeks ago we got a recipe from Keith's mom for seafood gumbo so, the other night, Keith made it while I was still at work (what a great husband, no?).  He took pictures to show me the process, and I've decided to share a few of them with you.

Here is celery, okra, tomatoes, onions, green peppers, and bacon boiling in sherry and cooking wine. (Is that not the biggest pot you've ever seen?)

He added shrimp, scallops, and bluegill (any white fish would work, I think).

Mix them all together...

And you get a delicious seafood gumbo!

Now obviously there are other spices and things in there (like rice), but I don't have the recipe in front of me, so just pretend it's a family secret.  :-)  What I can tell you, however, is that it's delicious.  Thank you, Keith, for a delicious dinner!

  4. I love the fact that your husband made you dinner ... but the fact that he took photos too?! LOVE. THAT. My husband cannot understand why I take photos of our food, even when I explain it is for the blog.
