I Feel So Grown Up

I'm just popping in to share with you all our wonderful news: we're homeowners!  Closing went smoothly yesterday and in less than an hour we were on our way over to our new house.  I'd have pictures, but of course my camera batteries died (I did tell myself to pack extra batteries but I never listen).

Lizzie had a grand time running around sniffing everything.  At least, I think she did.  She has no clue what's going on, because our current house is in complete disarray with boxes half-packed and everywhere you look.  Then we whisk her away to her usual "vacation spot" at Grandma and Grandpa's, and then take her into a new house that most definitely had dogs living in it less than a week ago.  So, while I tried to do the Cesar Millan thing and introduce her to her new home in a manner that told her it was mine first, and then hers, I'm not sure she was really paying attention.  She did enjoy her new, fenced-in back yard, though!  Hopefully once all of our stuff is in it she'll see it as her own.  I'm sure she'll be the queen bee in no time.

We did meet one of our neighbors, and he's already offered up any tools we need to borrow since this is our first house.  The sellers mentioned a neighbor behind us who is a dog agility trainer and even has some of the equipment in her back yard (it's true; I saw it through our upstairs window).  And the sellers also mentioned how much they're going to miss that house.  They lived there for 9 years and are moving because their family is getting too big for it.  All good signs for a happy home for us.  :-)

We are T-11 days away from Moving Day and I absolutely cannot wait!
