Wallpaper, I Hate You (Including Nursery Pictures)

When we bought our house last year, we shrugged off the wallpaper borders that accompanied not just one, but six rooms. There were only two I really didn't like, and I figured when the time came I would just peel those off and re-paint.

Ha.

Little did I know just what a bitch wallpaper really is. Having never dealt with it before, I didn't think it was that big of a deal. Now, after two days of scraping and spraying and steaming and scraping some more, I want to slap the person who even invented wallpaper. What sort of sick, sadistic person would not only want to use such a vile product, but put it in six rooms?!

Thankfully, the nursery border is gone (hooray!), but it looks like the bathroom border is here to stay for awhile. Seriously, does anyone really think half-naked cherubs are cute? And appropriate for a bathroom?

Here's the before picture of the nursery's bunny and teddy bear border:

Not horrible by any means, but not what I wanted. I may have been a little too into peeling off bunny heads.

And the after(math):

Hopefully we'll get the sample colors painted this weekend and then we can start actually painting. With each step, this starts to feel more and more real.

And for those of you who have stuck around and read this entire post, I present to you...half-naked babies!

Told you they weren't cute.

  1. I can picture the woman who lived there. I'm sure her house contained mauve velour couches, brass end tables, and lots and lots of dusty fake flowers.
