My friend called me tonight to announce that her husband had just bought a Wii, something they had been trying to procure for the last year and a half. I was so proud when she told me, and I felt as if I was welcoming her into the club of Wii-ownership, much I like I imagine new moms are welcomed into the club of motherhood by those who already have children. Ridiculous comparison, I know, but not having kids myself, and the Wii being one of my most prized possessions, I feel it to be somewhat similar.
If we were to delve further into my psychosis of comparing having children to other things, you would learn that I feel the need to buy a dog about the same as I imagine most women feel the need to have children. My biological clock is not ticking, but my doggy clock is.
Okay, I realize that neither of these stories was very good, but I just wanted to give a shout out to my good pal Melanie and congratulate her on her new Wii, and may it live long and prosper.
