90 people lost their jobs today.
We lost 48 people in the data department and, after this morning, we're down to about 16.
We're outsourcing jobs.
The good news is that I was considered worthy of staying in this core group of people who will be handling the more difficult tasks associated with our department. While I'm thankful that I still have a job, I can't help but be sad and upset when the few friends I've made here are now gone, and I can't help but worry that this is going to be a continuing trend.
Who knows how my job description will change in the next few weeks. Until then, I guess I'll just keep going because I don't know what else to do.
I wonder what it was, exactly, that made them decide to keep me.
You're smart, I expect you've got a good record, I hope you maintain a good attitude at work. They've already trained you to do harder things, and you've learned them. Keep on doing well, keep a smile on your face, anddisplay a positive, can-do attitude.
ReplyDeleteThe whole situtation is truly a shame. I'm sorry it happened and glad that you have a job
