Family Ties

Sorry for the lack of posting in the last month; this has been quite a hard year for me already. But hopefully now I will be able to start to move on, and with that comes more posting.

Under terrible circumstances, I was able to get together with some of my family that I haven't seen in many years. It was nice to see everyone again, and I was sad when we all had to leave, because I truly miss hanging out with my cousins and aunts and uncles. I wish we all lived closer to each other.

I've almost decided (I say "almost" because I haven't signed up for it yet) to run a 5-mile race at a local park in a couple of weeks. This will be the first time I've ever raced competitively, but let's be honest, it isn't going to be much of a race. I'm actually just looking forward to being able to say I finished it. I've never run 5 miles in a row, but I have been running 2.5 to 3 every day (admittedly with some walking thrown in there), so I figure I should be able to finish with a somewhat respectable time. Anyway, I usually don't do these things because I'm a wimp and I never have anyone to do them with me, but Keith has promised to be there to support me and watch me cross the finish line, so I think that'll be enough motivation to get me out there. And now that I've told all of you, I'd look pretty silly backing out, so I guess I better just go sign up, huh?

P.S. To my family: Do any of you remember the name of the champagne we were drinking? I'd like to find a bottle.

  1. It's called Persecco. Don't know if it's sparkling wine or champagne, but I'm looking for it, too. Sam's doesn't have it.

I miss hanging out with everybody, too. It's too bad we all live so far apart.

What date is the race? Go Amy!

  2. It was wonderful to see you again, even though we all would have wished for better circumstances. I know you'll do great in the upcoming race! GO AMY GO!

  3. I signed up! Eek! Thanks for your support. :-) The race is on March 21st, so it's coming up quickly.

  4. I'm sure you'll get an A!

... Er. Finish the race! I mean. :-D
