I Get to Read-a-Thon Tomorrow!

I was a bit bummed this week because I didn't think I would be able to participate in my 3rd 24-hour Read-a-Thon tomorrow. Well, nothing clears up a social calendar like sickness, so it looks like I'm going to be able to read after all!

My good friend Katie will be visiting me in the morning, so I don't plan on getting an early start. And I do need to make a trip to the grocery store at some point (snacks!) but other than that, I'm going to be all taking-care-of-the-baby-and-sick-husband-while-reading. Because that's just how we do around here.

Since I'm participating in Michelle's Reading My Own Books challenge, I'm looking forward to making a dent in the mountain that is my already-owned book stack. And what I'm about to show you isn't even close to all of them.

I've got a stack of books I bought from a local bookstore a couple of months ago, plus a couple books that are technically borrowed but I've had them so long they're really mine. Included are a couple books with shorter stories (or letters) that I can use to split up the day and give my mind a bit of a break.

Plus, I have a stack of old YA books that I read (or didn't, as the case may be) as a kid. I want to re-read these to see if they're worth keeping around for Emily.

I also have my Kindle, which is chalk full of books I keep forgetting about because they can't just slap me in the face every time I walk past my bookshelves.

And finally, I have an audio book (The Mark of Zorro) that I need to finish, and which will be a nice break for my eyes.

Of course, I reserve the right to stray from these stacks, but honestly, I'll just be happy if I make a good dent in my book club pick, Rules of Civility. And maybe read a few of Margaret Mitchell's letters. And a YA book. I'm so indecisive.

Check back here tomorrow for my official Read-a-Thon post, and you can follow my progress on Twitter. See you tomorrow!
